I just finished walking my Mom. We left the apartment when the sun was just beginning to set over the tops of the mountains. The sky was gold, pink and blue and the air was clean and fresh. It felt really good to not have to wear a jacket...it had been really cold with snow higher than I am tall. Today, I was free and loving every minute of my walk. I took my time and sniffed as many tufts of grass and lamp posts as I could. Several of them smelled especially good and I gave them my own personal salute (if you know what I mean). By the time our walk was over, the moon was taking over the sky with its white, grey-speckled light. Mom did a great job following my lead. It has taken me a while to train her but she is catching on. I am really, really thankful for the small pleasures of my life. Are you thankful?
Navigating today's world can be challenging. Each day requires new agility, stamina, courage and a sense of humor. Recently, one of my daughters asked me how I remain so positive. My response was this: "Prayer and my connection to God through embracing his Word gives me joy no matter the situation." God is real and the Bible is relevant for today, tomorrow, and forever. The last few years have solidified my purpose: to encourage others by sharing God's answers to today's challenges. Blessings!
