Keys and License Plates--We Are Officially Virginians

Woohoo! I am happy to report that we are officially Virginians! This week we received the keys to our new home and registered our vehicles with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.

God is awesome! The process began at the end of December, and we have been amazed at how quickly things have progressed. From selling our home in North Carolina, moving to Virginia, starting my new job, and closing on our hew home here: the entire process has all transpired in an eight-week timeframe. When God opens doors, He opens them for real! There is no way all of this could have transpired in this fashion without Divine Orchestration.

Psalm 37:23 says "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way (KJV)." In today's language, this means that when we commit to living a lifestyle that pleases God, He takes great joy in watching over us, and taking care of us. I tell you--we experiencing God's delight!

My Shepherd Never Fails

The call from the recruiter came out of the blue. A former colleague had given him my name and he immediately reached out. Eight weeks later, I am stepping into a whole new life. I start my new position this coming Monday with a well-respected hospital system in northern Virginia. God worked out every detail and His timing was impeccable. The interview process was very smooth and the actual interviews were the best I have ever experienced. Everyone was warm and welcoming. We had to sell our current home. Guess what? We went into contract on our current home and our new home two days apart. The new home has everything we need, including a fully fenced yard for our miniature poodle. The location is fifteen minutes from my new employer. And the view from our front porch is rolling green pastures with mountains in the distance. Green Spring Baptist Church

We have been very, very busy getting settled in Virginia. God has favored us tremendously. We have met so many nice and helpful people, and this has allowed us to feel at home here. One thing that was at the top of our list was to connect with a ministry, so that we could continue to walk in our pastoral calling. God orchestrated what I call a "divine appointment." A local pastor, who befriended us early on, invited us to a pastors' prayer breakfast. He introduced us to the attendees while the breakfast was in progress. Immediately after the breakfast, a gentleman approached my husband, introduced himself as a deacon from Green Spring Baptist Church, and asked my husband to come and speak at the ministry. He shared they had been without a pastor for several years and they were hoping to find the right person to fill that role. Dates were arranged. Fast forward to today. Before I get into today's post, I want to say "Thank you!" When I started this blog I had no idea there would be so many people who would take the time to read what I write. I want you to know I greatly appreciate each of you and your readership is very encouraging to me. Unwanted Gift Have you ever received a gift and thought "What were they thinking?" or "What am I going to do with this?" I confess that I have.
